It Rests On Quick, Kopitar and Brown…and Perhaps Scarlett Johansson

Scarlett Johansson is an amazing woman. In my dream last night, she did amazing things. I also dreamed of the Kings and, upon awakening, am persuaded so much of the Kings’ chances of making the playoffs rests on Jonathan Quick, Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown going into beast mode.

That should frighten you a bit.

Quickie has already been, as a reader of ours pointed out on Twitter, in beast mode. Well, that’s kind of true. I am referring to Jonathan’s elevated beast mode status, not standard beast mode – the beast mode that takes him from 540 HP to 707. Kopi has played better. Last night against New Jersey, he was dominant. Dustin Brown has been “snakebitten?” That is what I keep hearing.

Excuses must be set ablaze because the Flames apparently don’t intend to lose much, if at all, between now and season’s end. And Vancouver is 4 points ahead. And if you look at Calgary and Vancouver’s schedule, ours is harder. In many respects, we’re fucked…that is, unless these players who are difference makers when they get hot and make this team all but unbeatable get there now, the next 3 weeks and onward. That kind of momentum into and through the playoffs wins shiny trophies. Or, who knows, we could be fucked, but you, like me, would prefer that the right way…oh, Scarlett…
